Storyline
9/10
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has a storyline that’s as intense and rewarding as the gameplay itself. You play as Wolf, a skilled samurai on a mission to rescue his kidnapped lord and take down anyone who stands in his way. The story is packed with revenge, betrayal, and honor, with Wolf navigating a brutal world full of crazy bosses, mythical creatures, and morally gray characters. As you progress, you start to uncover deeper mysteries about immortality, the power of the Divine Heir, and the consequences of the choices people make.
Feel and Mechanics
9.6/10
You’ve got a mix of swordplay, deflections, and well-timed strikes that make every fight feel like a dance. The posture system is key—if you can break your enemy’s posture, you get a brutal death blow that ends the fight in style. It’s not just about attacking; it’s about staying defensive, parrying attacks, and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Plus, you’ve got the cool prosthetic arm, which can transform into tools like a shield, grappling hook, or shuriken, giving you even more options in combat.

Challenge and Entertainment
9.5/10
It’s the kind of game that’ll make you want to throw your controller, but in the best way possible. The combat is unforgiving—you can’t just spam attacks and hope for the best. Every enemy, from regular soldiers to massive bosses, requires careful timing, strategy, and patience to take down. The game doesn’t hold your hand at all, and there’s no easy mode, so you’re pretty much on your own to figure things out. One wrong move and you’re dead, but that’s part of the fun.
Build and Development
8/10
The Wolf, a badass samurai on a mission to rescue his kidnapped lord and get some revenge on those who wronged him. The game’s story is intense, with a lot of twists, but what really stands out is Wolf’s character development. At first, he’s all about duty and revenge, doing whatever it takes to get his lord back. But as you progress, you start to see more layers of his character—he deals with loss, the weight of his actions, and the moral dilemmas of what it means to be a warrior. He’s not just fighting to get revenge anymore; he’s facing bigger questions about life, death, and the cost of immortality.

Loot and Extras
8.5/10
Just stunning. From Software is incredible at side missions and scattering meaningful pieces of loot in every nook and cranny.
We found ourselves delighted by the rewarding nature of exploration with side missions, quests, armour, weapon and crafting materials in every corner of the map.
