Storyline
10/10

Arthur Morgan, who’s hailed as one of the greatest playable characters in gaming history. The story revolves heavily around Arthur, whose journey is a mix of personal struggles, moral dilemmas, and the relationships he has with others in Dutch’s gang. Every character in the gang—Micah, Dutch, John, and the rest—gets their own moments of growth, making the story feel alive and real.

What makes the game top-tier is how the world and story evolve as you play. Little things, like stumbling on a girl locked in an outhouse by her family, come full circle—by the epilogue, she’s a skeleton. The attention to detail is insane. Plus, the historical setting adds so much depth.

Feel and Mechanics
9/10

Red Dead Redemption 2 is all about immersion—it’s slow, deliberate, and totally absorbing. The pace isn’t for everyone, but that slowness really lets you soak in the world, from the crunch of snow underfoot to the way Arthur methodically reloads his gun. Speaking of guns, the weapon wheel is a huge part of the gameplay, letting you swap between a wide range of weapons and tools seamlessly. Combat gives you a ton of freedom—you can go in guns blazing, pick enemies off from a distance with a sniper rifle, or even sneak around with a bow for a quieter approach. Every encounter feels like you’re in control of how it plays out, and the weighty mechanics make every shot or swing feel impactful.

Challenge and Entertainment
8.5/10

RDR2 is pure entertainment from start to finish, packed with so much to do that it’s easy to lose track of time. The main story is gripping, filled with emotional highs and lows, but the side quests are where the game really shines. You might find yourself helping a struggling artist in Saint Denis, tracking down bizarre strangers in the middle of nowhere, or uncovering creepy secrets in abandoned towns. Then there’s hunting—an entire game within the game. Whether you’re stalking a legendary bear in the mountains or quietly tracking a deer in the woods, it’s a thrilling and rewarding experience. There’s just so much variety that it never feels repetitive, and every activity, no matter how small, feels like it adds something meaningful to the world.

Build and Development
9/10

Arthur Morgan’s character development in Red Dead Redemption 2 is nothing short of incredible. He starts out as a hardened outlaw, fiercely loyal to Dutch and the gang, doing whatever it takes to survive. But as the story unfolds, you see cracks in that tough exterior. Arthur begins to question his choices, his loyalty, and what kind of man he really wants to be.

Loot and Extras
9.5/10

Then there’s the treasure hunting—following cryptic maps to uncover gold bars or valuables that can be sold for a hefty profit. Alongside the big finds, you’ll stumble across random trinkets, unique jewelry, and even oddities like antique bottles or fossils, which add to the game’s rich sense of discovery. Hunting also ties into loot, with pelts, meat, and other animal parts that can be sold, used for crafting, or traded for upgrades. Whether you’re looting a train, searching an abandoned shack, or skinning a legendary animal, there’s always something worth finding, making every adventure feel rewarding.
