Storyline
7.5/10

In Dragon's Dogma 2, part of the appeal is in its straightforward storyline. Players embark on a quest that revolves around the classic themes of good versus evil, with the central narrative focusing on the rise of a formidable dragon threatening the realm.

This simplicity allows for a rich exploration of the game's intricate mechanics, character development, and dynamic relationships without overwhelming players with convoluted plot twists.

However, placed next to gamings top games such as God of War, Souls, Halo etc. The storyline in DD2 leaves much to be desired.

Feel and Mechanics
7.5/10

While the changing vocation system offers some depth, it often feels like a double-edged sword that can complicate rather than enhance the experience.

The mechanics, though designed to provide fluidity, can lead to confusion and frustration, especially when players are forced to constantly shift between classes to meet the game’s demands. This necessity can feel more like a chore than an opportunity for creativity, as the frequent changes disrupt the flow of gameplay.

Although the feel left a lot to be desired the autonomy was refreshing and with a slight shift in combat priorities there was opportunity for enjoyment in combat and feel.

Challenge and Entertainment
7/10

Dragon's Dogma 2 offers an expansive open world filled with diverse areas that promise excitement and adventure, yet the experience is often marred by the tedium of travel.

Whilst the game offers a lot of diversity the thrill of discovery is frequently dampened by the grind of traversing vast distances between locations. While the world is richly detailed, the frequent back-and-forth travel can feel monotonous, detracting from the enjoyment of engaging quests and encounters.

Build and Development
8/10

One of the standout strengths of "Dragon's Dogma 2" lies in its robust upgrades and character building system, which provides players with a rewarding sense of progression. The game allows for deep customisation of characters through a variety of skills, traits, and vocations, enabling players to tailor their playstyle to suit their preferences.

This level of personalization enhances the overall experience, as players invest in their growth and adapt to the challenges of the world, making character development one of the game’s most compelling features.

Loot and Extras
6.5/10

The loot system, while initially enticing, often reveals its flaws through the tedious nature of side missions and a lack of clear direction.

Players are frequently becoming over weight by carrying too much which can feel like busywork rather than meaningful exploration.

The rewards for these missions, including weapons and gear, sometimes feel underwhelming or redundant, failing to provide a satisfying sense of accomplishment.
